Our client specialises in advising clients on sustainability issues, including renewable energy, waste and resource management and climate change amongst others. Although based in the UK, they work internationally and are rapidly growing. In order to accommodate this growth and continue to ensure high quality delivery, they are extending the opportunity for a Technical Director to join their Air Quality team and support a range of projects. We’re looking for driven and passionate individuals to lead this team and join a respected and ambitious company.
Undertaking this role will require you to lead and mentor an existing team of dynamic specialists working on a wide range of projects. You will be the technical lead for air quality and odour projects and you will be reporting in to the Air Quality leader for the UK. You will be responsible for maintaining the high quality of environmental deliverables whilst still meeting the budget and timescale parameters set for the project. It is also essential that you support and develop relationships with key clients and provide advice to them on compliance to EIA issues and regulations and be able to work with their technical specialists on scheme designs.
The successful candidate will have a degree qualification in an appropriate field and have obtained chartered membership of a recognised professional institution relevant to the area of expertise. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate managerial experience. You will need to be able to show technical skills including:
- Proven ability to use Air Quality models (such as ADMS, ADMS-Roads, Aermod, AirViro and CALPUFF).
- An excellent understanding of environmental regulations and relevant UK technical guidance including the DMRB, LAQM Technical Guidance, H1 and relevant documents from the IAQM and EPUK.
- Proven UK experience in Air Quality assessment work. This will include Air Quality Assessments for some or all of the following: industrial sites, road transport schemes and Local Air Quality Management.
- Experience working to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
