April Town Planning Jobs and Market Update

April Town Planning Jobs and Market Update

As we move into second quarter of the year there has been a noticeable change in the Planning market. Opportunities are being opened up everywhere. This applies to the job market but also to consultancies who are reporting that they haven’t been this busy since 2008/9. Again this is great news for the passive and active job seeker in Town Planning. Of the roles we filled in April 40% of candidates were able to amend the job descriptions of the roles which they have taken and companies are aware that the roles which they are offering need to be adapted to the needs of the latest talent.

70% of the candidates we placed last month, received an increased remuneration package of beyond 10% and no candidate moved for less money. Most importantly though companies are looking to bring in Planners at all levels to help deliver their soaring order books. Most of the recruitment has taken place in the Residential market, however we have been working on roles which include Retail Planning, Urban Design and Urban Regeneration – all areas which have been heavily hit during the recession.

The roles which we are actively working are detailed below:

Planning Director – London
