About the Role:
An experienced Environmental Compliance Manager is needed to lead environmental initiatives and ensure compliance. Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll manage a small team, collaborate across the company, and engage with suppliers, customers, NGOs, and government. Some international travel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee corporate environmental compliance and purchasing practices.
- Ensure adherence to UK Timber Regulation, Construction Products Regulation, and the Modern Slavery Act.
- Manage due diligence systems for supplier compliance and audits.
- Serve as the main contact for legal compliance queries.
- Report to government bodies and certification schemes.
- Represent the company at industry committees and develop training materials.
Skills:
- Expertise in timber legality and certification.
- Experience in the timber supply chain or forest management.
- Auditing, training, and strong influencing skills.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving change.
