Head of Planning

We are currently recruiting a Head of Planning for a niche, independent consultancy based in London. Our client is expanding their business across the UK and into the European market and is looking for an enthusiastic individual to head up their UK Planning team to support this growth, and to be focused on UK projects.

Your role will be stepping in to manage and lead on all UK planning matters. You will manage an in-house planning and design team and will still have an active role in pursuing planning applications, appeals, etc. You will be a confident and clear communicator who is comfortable developing and maintaining professional relationships across commercial and industrial planning. There is no immediate need to bring a client base with you to be successful in this role, however a commercial mindset is a must. Ideally you will have proven experience managing and supporting staff, as you will be leading a small and focused group of planners. A positive approach and being a good team player is essential, as you will be collaborating with multiple stakeholders and departments.  A background in either the public or private sector is welcome, but you must be a chartered member of the RTPI.

There is hybrid working in place for this role to support work/life balance, with most employee’s working two days a week from home. The salary will be based upon the individuals skill and experience but is estimated to £60k-£80k, supported by a generous and significant bonus scheme and additional benefits.
