31 Jul Associate Planner
Fancy living the dream in Cornwall's beautiful English Riviera?
Are you a Town Planner with at least 3 years' experience working in the public or private sector?
Do you have experience in managing medium and small scale applications for residential and commercial sites? And potentially experience of renewables applications too?
If the above sparks your interest, then please get in touch as we are seeking an experienced, conscientious and ambitious Town Planner to join a thriving practice with a strong regional reputation in West Cornwall.
With over a dozen staff and attractive, airy offices, this company is well regarded as both strong in their fields of design and planning and an excellent employer. The team are friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and their location and roomy offices mean they have been able to return largely to the normality of working together since Covid restrictions were relaxed. Working from home still has it's place though, and they are happy to consider each individual employee's needs, but they are hoping to maintain the collaborative environment of their office as much as possible so hope that the incoming Planner will work on site as much as possible.
Most of their projects are based in the west of England (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset), but they are often asked by their clients to complete projects further afield so there may be some occasional travel nationwide.
Typical projects include, 20+ residential units in growth areas of the western counties, permissions for one off architect-designed coastal and rural homes, extensions and other householder applications, often in environmentally or historically sensitive locations, commercial schemes and renewable energy applications.
The post they are looking to fill has arisen due to a fast growing workload since the economy reopened, so they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. The position will involve plenty of client contact and project management but there is not a specific need for the individual to bring their own clients or develop business. You will instead be provided with confirmed projects to work on, from initial appraisal through to completion. You will work as part of a team of 4, working closely but with responsibility for your own caseload.
As a fully chartered planner with at least 3 years' experience, you will be offered a salary of £41,100 plus pension and mileage. For candidates with at least 3 years' experience who are not yet chartered or who are Associate members of the RTPI, the salary will range from £37,500 to £39,500 plus package so this is a very well paid position for a relatively junior level planner, or a stable position with an established and highly regarded consultancy for a more experienced planner who wants to avoid the pressures of winning their own business.
The office is located just off the main arterial A30 which runs through the middle of Devon and Cornwall, so this position would suit someone travelling in from the east. Some homeworking opportunities mean it could suit a candidate who lives further afield, but you must be willing to make the journey to West Cornwall on a very regular basis. It would also very much suit someone who is looking to RELOCATE TO CORNWALL long term, but you must be confident in your decision to move as this position is urgent and the relocation would need to be imminent.
If this position and its location sound of interest, then please do get in touch straight away. Your CV will remain confidential and will only be sent out to companies with your express permission.
Call Rob on 07855276123 or 020 7859 4246. Alternatively, send your CV via the 'apply' button below or send your CV directly to firstname.lastname@example.org, including a contact number so that I can get in touch with you to discuss the role further.
Please note that we will endeavour to review all applications within two weeks and if there is interest in your candidacy, a consultant will be in touch. Unfortunately, due to the significant amount of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback on every application so if you have not heard from us within two weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful on this occasion.
