Town Planner wanted in Reading

Our client are a nationally significant Town Planning consultancy with a countrywide presence. They are a very busy, driven and socially orientated consultancy who are looking to increase their team of Town Planners in their Reading office. Business is booming and they struggle to turn work away so it’s very much a work hard/play hard culture. Profit share is in place and they appreciate and reward hard work.

The team are currently working on a broad variety of multi-scale residential, mixed use and retail projects alongside commercial developments, brownfield regeneration and community projects and they are looking to appoint someone to help manage smaller projects and assist on the delivery of medium to large scale project alongside more senior members of the team.

As well as cooperating and communicating with your team, you will be required to build relationships with clients and stakeholders, make representations on behalf of clients and present planning schemes at local authority and public consultation meetings.

We are looking for someone who is MRTPI qualified (or working towards), has strong planning experience including some residential project experience, has good project management skills and an ability to undertake quantitative and sequential assessments.

All candidates should naturally be committed and have an eye for detail and should be comfortable working with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative. All candidates must also hold a full UK driving licence.

Salary on offer is very competitive and includes car allowance, pension scheme, profit share scheme and much more.

Ideally, applicants will have 1-2 years consultancy experience including some residential Town Planning experience but Masters Graduates with internship/work experience and applicants from a Local Authority background will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.
